The Ministry of Finance has issued a notification revising the application fees for government job recruitment exams. As per the new rules, the minimum fee is set at 50 Taka, while the maximum is capped at 200 Taka.
Key Highlights of the Notification
The revised fees apply to:
- Non-cadre positions managed by the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (excluding BCS).
- Jobs in government, semi-government, autonomous, and statutory organizations.
- Various grade-based posts in corporations and other institutions.
The fee structure based on grade levels is as follows:
- 9th Grade and above (Non-cadre): 200 Taka.
- 10th Grade: 200 Taka.
- 11th and 12th Grades: 150 Taka.
- 13th to 16th Grades: 100 Taka.
- 17th to 20th Grades: 50 Taka.
- All Grades (for underprivileged applicants): 50 Taka.
Payment and Collection Methods
- Online Application:
Candidates can pay the fees through Teletalk Bangladesh Limited. A maximum of 10% of the collected fees can be given to Teletalk as commission, along with a 15% VAT on the commission amount. For instance, for 13th–16th grade exams, a 100 Taka fee will include a 10 Taka commission, and 1.5 Taka VAT, making the total fee 112 Taka for applicants. - Fee Submission Process:
Teletalk is required to deposit the collected fees to the concerned institution’s account within three working days via bank check. Autonomous institutions may deposit the amount into their own accounts. - Offline Payment (if online is unavailable):
Institutions can collect fees via challan, bank draft, or pay order. Fees collected must be deposited into the government treasury using the designated institutional and economic codes.
Application Fee for BCS
In a related development, a notification issued on December 11 reduced the application fee for the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) exams from 700 Taka to 200 Taka. This change has already been implemented starting with the 47th BCS.
This move aims to make government job applications more affordable and accessible for all candidates. It also streamlines the fee payment process, particularly with the option for online payment through Teletalk.
